The Isle Verte Soustons Sports Centre was in the spotlight on Sunday 7 May 2023, when the technical staff of the New Zealand rugby 7s teams were welcomed to Soustons by Mrs Frédérique Charpenel, Mayor of Soustons, to visit and finalise the contract for the arrival of the two national teams, the “All Black Sevens” for the men’s team and the “Black Ferns Sevens” for the women.
Stéphane Seddiki, manager of the Isle Verte Sports Centre, led the visit, taking note of the specific demands of hosting this very high-level group: tailor-made above all for this unit of location and performance.
Their preparation will take place from 2 to 22 July 2024 before joining the Olympic village a few days later for the start of the competitions (end of July).
The town of Soustons is proud and delighted to have been chosen as #TerreDeJeux2024 and to have been chosen as a place of performance by the two reigning World Rugby 7s Champions.
