The sports hall is exceptional for the quality of the playing surface, which is a key factor for the athletes.
Why did you choose the Landes?
Olivier: First and foremost, the training conditions are ideal because when we are preparing for the Olympics we need to work on technical and tactical issues alongside all the physical elements. We can rely on the weight training room, the stadium which is just next door to the sports centre, and the sports hall with its top quality playing surface which is so important for the athletes.
Coralie: The training course is going really well, we’ve got superb facilities, the weather is great, the beach is nearby, and the fact that we can cycle to our training sessions is a real breath of fresh air.
The perfect lifestyle/infrastructure mix?
Coralie: It is a real bonus because we know that a playing surface like this helps to limit injuries. We are enjoying the good weather and Capbreton and Hossegor are attractive towns which contribute to a great quality of life.
Olivier: Of course, the other conditions are also first rate, and it’s true that preparing for such an important competition in such an idyllic setting allows us to feel like we’re on holiday between training sessions whilst never losing focus on our goals.
These are truly extraordinary conditions.
